I was an active duty Marine Corps spouse for 23 years, who never had the opportunity to pursue her own career or passion. I didn’t even know what that passion was, to be quite frank.
After countless unrelated jobs, resulting in zero upward mobility, I eventually ended up in an industry that drained the life out of me.
To others, it appeared that I had a nice cushy, work from home position, but I wasn’t passionate about my job, felt underappreciated and lonely. These feelings were spilling over into my personal life.
As my oldest child was nearing the end of her high school career, I had this nagging feeling that I was running out of time with my children. I was sick and tired of giving my family what felt like leftovers because I had poured my all into a job that I didn’t even like, and certainly wasn’t proud of.
All this changed after I had a tough, but brave, conversation with my husband and expressed my desire to scale back professionally. I was looking to reduce my stress level and have more time to enjoy my family.
I initially transitioned into a network marketing skincare company. Helping other women increase their confidence by feeling great in their skin is both fun and rewarding. When you look good, you feel good, and being able to contribute in this manner spills over into my life with reciprocal “feel good” vibes.
While venturing out to build “my own” piece of the skincare industry, in partnership with Rodan + Fields, I started to work on ME. I started to pursue personal development, leadership development, and hired a few coaches along the way. I believe we all can muddle through and “figure things out” on our own, but why not speed up the process by acquiring skills, tips and tricks from those you admire, who have already done the work and figured it out. All of the greats (in any field) have coaches that contribute towards their success.
One of the things I’ve learned during my journey of self-development is that I am passionate about building a community that inspires, uplifts and encourages other women. I feel that we are all responsible for our own happiness and once we master the skill of creating our own happiness, we are well on our way to designing the life of our dreams.
I have developed a twelve-week coaching program, Start To Bloom, which helps women rediscover themselves: their values, passions, purpose, “magnetic magic” and ultimately what makes them happy. I also am available for individual and customizable coaching programs.
